I didn't know he was showing images of the setup
I know he's using one of his family's "villas" for the exhibition

No doubt. Nick is one of the good ones.
Hate the game, not the player.
Even when the player has an inherent ability, or, shall I say, inherited ability, to out-bid all off us many, many times over.
I saw his handle as top bidder on an item I was eyeing in an eMovieposter auction. I moved on lol

That's really unfair. Nicklyk bids on lots and lots of items, but he is outbid FAR more often than he wins, and many of the items he wins are inexpensive.
That is the one gigantic difference between our auctions and almost every other one. Whether or not they SAY they have reserves, there are often secret deals that allow consignors to bid on their own items at no cost (or to allow the auction house to raise the reserves, sometimes to way above the estimates) and these practices guarantee you rarely ever get a real bargain in those auctions.

I only had so much money to go around, so I opted not to get into a possible bidding war with Nick or anyone else for that matter. There were a couple of pieces in last night's auction that I wanted, and I ended up winning one of them. Them item I saw Nick bidding on isn't part of my direct collecting focus right now, so I left good enough alone.

What's funny in a sardonic way is that everyone but Nick seems to be touting his wares. It'd surely be nice if he participated, or even responded to an email....

Stop in sometime, Nick.
To be clear, as Dario invited everyone to join him, Nicklyc is sharing all of these photos and others on his Facebook for next months exhibit. It's no underground secret only to be whispered by candle light among Bruce, Ed Pool, Masons, the Pope, Snoop Dogg and the inner-circle of Europe's founding families.
I'm very interested in the idea of a "poster gallery". I got the chance last year to see two exhibitions of Sam's in NY. For $45 I was able to enjoy 50 years of film art from Ingmar Bergman to Wes Anderson. How nice would it be to allow an exhibit of your collection to pay for your collecting? Anyone else attend an exhibit of late or ever?

I too think it's a great idea, but it puts me off a bit that Nick is putting on a gallery for all the world to see, or at least Athens, yet doesn't participate in the collecting community. It's not just this board, but any of them that are out there, including MoPo. The longer it goes without contact, the more I'm inclined to read into the silence a negative trait or two. But then again, I felt the same about one particular person and now we're good friends, so I'll leave some room for the other possibilities. As Carson said, Nick, stop in and say hi.

Good news is that Mr. Lyk emailed, expressed his regret at not having more time due to busy days, and said he hoped to participate more as time allows. That was a nice gesture. If he'd stop bidding on so many damned posters, he'd have more time to talk!!!!!

The guy has to have a damn warehouse the size of a city block. I thought I had a lot of posters but everything thing I look at has nicklyk on it.
Thank god Dr. Randy doesnt buy much in the 70-date range anymore or I would throw in the towel all together.
