Can anyone recommend an excellent specific lighbox less than $300?

I almost bought one years ago but APFers were building their own, which was my plan then....

I'll have to invite you over, if/when I ever get my place in presentable shape with my collection displayed. It's just me and my 13 year old Basset Hound Snoopy.

Just spend the 300 and get an LED snap frame version. More consistent lighting, super slimline, worth the investment. Somethings in life are not worth the PITA to do it yourself, this is one of them :)

VL, in French "personality poster glory" gets promoted to the wall:

Studios dropped personality posters eons ago, but just yesterday Mark Hamill tweeted in praise of this recent portrait by "Brandons Brain":

Funny in the early 40s VL received thousands of snail-mail letters PER WEEK. MH gets thousands of emails and tweet replies PER DAY.

Hi The Sundance Kid!

In some theatres in Thailand, there are still some great personality original paintings hanging up.  I was shocked the first time I turned to go down a lobby hallway in Bangkok and there they were: Mel Gibson, Reese Witherspoon, and other stars.

Cool, post some pics if you have them.

It’s aleays fun to watch your blondes, Mel, because it is something I’m completely foreign to.  Nice!

Thanks and I'll use your post as an excuse for random ruminations about blondes:

- male blondes (like me) are uncommon but 33% of white femmes are CURRENTLY blonde (50% peroxide blondes)
- nobody else noticed or cared, but I always noticed I was the only blonde male around wherever I went
- blondes have denser hair than others, but blonde men have higher-than-average rates of baldness
- male rock star lead singers are predominantly blonde (Rod Stewart, Sting, Bon Jovi, etc.) but guess who was a natural blonde and died his hair black?
- a gay peroxide blonde stylist once told me "you've got great hair, you know it's the preferred color of my community"
- my last GF was a 35yo natural blonde who told me "funny, you're the first blonde guy I've ever dated"
- Robert Redford is one of the few blonde male movie stars with medium/long hair:

- blonde girls probably "do have more fun" but I prefer the uncommon brunette/blue eyes ("perfect wifey material")

Latest submissions to Reddit. Lotsa infotainment for the unwashed masses there, to promote MPC.guide and the hobby generally.

I'm the only "advanced" MP collector posting there, although there are 20+ million subscribers.

My usual "success" rate applies: 70% bomb, 20-25% get some likes/comments, and 5-10% fare well. TOTALLY impossible to predict reaction.

Yep, there are an UNBELIEVABLE 20 million+ "subscribers" in the five subreddits I monitor, get bombed with many new threads per hour.

But, without bragging excessively, I'm unique, with thousands of hours each in Photoshop, website design, hours spent on "hard core" MPC forums, etc. plus - perhaps most importantly - one of the largest MP frame collections (50 currently, 75 previously) - and peeps are ALWAYS more intrigued by pics of framed MPs. So I can put together successful, interesting photo collages to promote the hobby.

But to answer your question, I always link to MPC.guide, and its Resource page links to APF.

From what I've seen, the ONLY serious MP collectors are here and it's not very active/good, mostly the subreddit founder posting junk like "Smoky and the Bandit":

https://www.reddit.com/r/ClassicMoviePosters/

No watermarked images/blatant promotion allowed on Reddit and that rule is enforced!

Funny creating my latest submission I FINALLY figured out LDV has extra linen that can be trimmed to fit my French frames, mistakenly believed linen was white border....
