Wouldn't it be great if they actually pulled it off? Odds on it's going to be a total disaster -- but unlike most prequel/sequels at least it is rooted in the canon/intriguing setup of the first movie.

Unfortunately it will probably be total shit. But it would be refreshing to see them get close to what the original is. There's just no chance in hell it will be better than the original.

Give it a chance.

Remember, when the Carpenter's came out, fans of the original were mocking the new endeavor...  How dare they re-make a classic like The Thing.

Cut to 28 years later.  Guess which movie has become a bigger classic.  No offense to the original, but Carpenter's The Thing is the ONE people are talking about.

Let's wait and see.

T
Its an image that has been posted on a few fan websites,
The Easter 2011 release date at the bottom seemed plausible.

LOL .. Just a difference in aesthetics I guess .. I like the simplicity of a poster like this .. I do see the ice and the I representing the digging into the ice .. Im still trying to figure out if the bright light at the top is supposed to be there or if its the flash from the camera though .. I just think this would look amazing in a light box .. thats just me though Cheesy

Yeah, it's hard to tell due to the shitty picture. I can see the ice cracking and stuff, but I wasn't sure what we were really looking at like T at first. Thought maybe they needed a lens cleaner cloth for their camera.

Where do u guys see cracking ice?  I just see blur.  And why is there only 1 picture of the damn thing?  And what is that logo at the bottom left?  Looks like a fan hoax to me.  Where was this posted first?  And where was the picture taken?

So many unanswered questions.

 uhno

I'm gonna go smoke a joint, now.  Maybe I'll see it better, like all of you, crackheads.

Either that or it is moisture lines on the lens from a drastic change in the environment the camera is in. From high humidity outside to cold AC inside.

I like it, to me it represents the moment before The Thing is uncovered under the ice.

This poster debuted at The Australian International Movie Convention 2010, promotion display because Joel Edgerton stars in it, according to the interweb.

Any Aussies out there who can shed any more info?

Stefan who runs the site is a great guy, he was/is a NS4 member, I "met" him years ago, when he bought a THING thing (think it was an aussie press sheet - cant recall) from me on ebay.

You Ari, are the only one in the whole world I like that eats offal, misses his dead rat carcasses, draws women on walls with skin peeling off of them and keeps a meat cleaver by his bed.
