Nice pickups there, Devin.

That Lloyd piece is really cool, and I like that thin paper, too. It looks like there might be 2 other Japanese movies advertised on there, too? (based on the small photos).

And that "Starfall" looks to be in really nice condition. Great score!  thumbup

agreed

Nice one there, Jefe.  The design is cool, as well as how it's the only (?) style that shows the orcs.  Similar to this style with the orcs, I like the Japanese version of The Return of the King, as it seems to be the only one that features the oliphaunts (giant elephant creatures).

Anyway, there is a lot of exceptional makeup work in those films, with the elves, orcs, etc.

Nice looking M quad there, John. BFI always seems to do a nice job on their RR quads, no doubt about it.

Rich and Erik, thanks for the comments  :)
The chirashi is advertising two other movies, one is "The Blind Spider", directed by Hiroshi Inagaki who also directed the Miyamoto Musashi "Samurai" series.  The other one I'm still trying to find more info about it.

Devin, what year did was this film released in Japan? Any idea? That might help to date when the Lloyd film was first shown there, too.

Seems to have been released at the beginning of 1929, Speedy was released in 1928 in the US so the timing seems about right thumbsup.gif

Yahoo auction, a few months back.  I was quite lucky, not too much interest in the lot.

A big shout out of thanks to fellow APF member, Klownicle, for this one.  notworthy.gif

As we all know, even though some may call one man's posters trash, they are still viewed as "poster treasure" to others, including me.

That is a great Krampus poster.  Was that artwork only on the UK one sheets?  Nice win.  cool1

Yeah, the full figure of Krampus walking across the roof in the moonlight is pretty creepy for sure, Brandon.

I dont know if this art was used elsewhere. A very quick search didnt reveal much.

Another from the so called and described "Pile 'O Crap" from fellow APF'er, Klownicle. Once again, a sincere thanks to him; I have to say that it's members like him, with a great and optimistic attitude about what the hobby is truly all about, that makes it worth it, let alone getting to know members like him. Thank you, again!  cheers

The design and overall look makes this one a stand out in the world of "modern posters," imho.

Now I see the "pile 'o trash" posters you are talking about...those that Bruce/eMovie returned to Klownicle.

To be fair, Bruce called them "very low value" posters.  I'm assuming that most were low value, with one or more an exception, such as this one.

Bruce hasn't posted in over a month, which is unfortunate.  I'm sure that a lot of folks appreciate most of what he shares here.

Thanks, Damo and Jason.

Jason, why, in your view, has this poster consistently done so well since it first appeared on the scene? it's not a particularly rare poster, is it? Or was it the untimely death of Ledger that has continued to fuel the price?

Some may know better than me. I think it used to sell for $200-$250 when it first came out. Hence the bootlegs.
Nowadays ebay gets around $75. Its a cool image, heath's death, and all the batman/joker fans have to be a factor.

Hey Brandon, looks like in the US, the same teaser art was used on the theatrical advance OS, too (with full credits). So perhaps the image of Krampus walking on the rooftop was only used in the UK? More  Spying.gif needed.

Here's the US Adv. OS:
