November 2016
« on: November 01, 2016, 02:55:21 PM »
Had this arrive today. It's an Argentinean OS for the Austrian film called Noch Minderjährig (1957). It was released in English speaking countries with the title, Under 18. I've not seen the movie but what caught my eye was the intense color and beautiful stone litho-created artwork.

On the back is a small stamp which reads "Dwight Cleveland Poster Archive" so it's kind of cool to have a poster that was once in his incredible collection.

Es muy caliente.  Nice one, and cool added history with it.  Did you buy it knowing that it's from the Dwight archive?

Thanks, Brandon. No, I had no idea it had been part of the Cleveland Archive as the seller never mentioned it, either. Or maybe he didnt notice the stamp, which is done in a light grey ink. I will try and snap a pic of it. I only noticed it, when I went to unfold it.

Nice press sheets, Devin. Cool horizontal format, and that layout works really well on The Searchers, giving a feel for the expanse and openness in that image. What size are each of these?

And Congrats on the pickups.  thumbup

Thanks you guys :)!  Pretty happy with them...Jeff, the press sheets are 24cm by 52cm.  I thought The Searchers used that layout really well, really emphasising the vast open territory.  My favourite is the Planet of the Apes; (even though it's not really a press sheet) the inside has 2 pages of colour shots and 4 pages of b/w including shots of Kim Hunter getting her make-up on.  Of course now, that process has become a bit "ho-hum" (or it's just done with a keyboard) but back in the day I imagine being able to see the stages of her make-up progression would be quite interesting for the reader.

Little disappointed in the condition it made it in, but not a lot of these around at this point. Some of the issues will press out.

I have a flickr account, but haven't been looking forward to transferring all of those pics.
What a nightmare.

And yes, Tob,  it is the advance.

Sounds like some good acquisitions already this month..hopefully Photobucket will be up soon and I can check them out!

I use Dropbox and they are pretty rock solid. They don't have the biggest free storage option in the world, but I just open another account with a free email when my space runs out. Natively, you can't embed the "shareable" link they give you, but if you change end of the share url from, (dl=0) to (run=1), the photos will display fine.

Picked up a few oldies and some newer ones lately..I've kind been all over the place here recently.

Back to the Beach - This one isn't very well known, but has a semi-cult following, and my family and I watch it every year when summer rolls around.

Blade Runner - Happy to finally add this to the collection. I was trying to hold out for a rolled copy, but I grabbed this one and am extremely happy with the condition. The artwork is striking in person.

Bottle Rocket - This is Wes Anderson's first film. The poster isn't much, and I've actually never seen the film, but I think I am going to to start collecting his films in posters, so why not start here.

A Monster Calls - The trailer for this really struck me, so I picked one up from Dale. I'm really fond of the colors/design as well.
