You can say that again.  THE VANISHING -- what a film.
The last scene -- the revelation -- haunts me to this day.
The American 'remake' was such hog-waller.

'that' ending plus one other scene, when they stop at the petrol station during the middle of the afternoon and his wife goes to the ladies/bathroom and he waits, and waits and she doesn't return. What makes it more frightening is it's during rush hour day time, there are loads of people about and it's not set in the middle of the night in some deserted outback. frightens me to this day.

That is the one.  I saw it when it was first televised here in the States and I will never forget it.
I have been meaning to buy a copy on Ebay so that I can watch it again, but whenever I have some pennies to rub together, I buy a movie poster.

I was lectured by the director of that film, and he screened it to our class.
I also saw it as a kid at the time.
Very good film.

"Ari, thanks for the feedback but you really are the last person I'd be involved with in this venture, but I'm sure you already know this and feel the same.
This is the first time I've seen you post on mopo since you last made a fool of yourself with absolute dribble."

You Ari, are the only one in the whole world I like that eats offal, misses his dead rat carcasses, draws women on walls with skin peeling off of them and keeps a meat cleaver by his bed.
