HEY GUYS!

New to the forums! Way excited. I am a mildly experienced collector. I collect mainly 80's poster but my taste is very eclectic.

My name is Froi but I go by Freefall here on the forums. Looking forward to learning and having fun with fellow collectors.

Oh and I am in Los Angeles, CA.

Welcome Freefall!

What sort of 80s do you collect?  Popular (Raiders, Aliens, BTTF, Goonies, etc...)? Obscure (Repo Man, Blood Simple, Withnail & I, etc...)?  Something else entirely?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I collect more of the popular stuff from the 80s. In fact two of my recent acquisitions are the advance OS and Regular OS of The Goonies. Although I have to say that I go for more visual than popularity. The main reason why I collect popular stuff from the 80s is because of the nostalgia associated with it.

80s paper is special. Do you have a site/image account where you store and sort your pics?

Not yet, Brude. I am slowly having each poster framed (properly) so I can display them in my small apt. I am awaiting a few RKO pieces that I loved for the art work (Mario Zamparelli I believe is the guy who did most of the art for HHughes RKO pics back in the day). I need to have those pieces linenbacked then framed. It's gonna cost a pretty penny but it's well worth it in the end :-)

Welcome Freefall!  Nice score on those Goonies posters.  Before you go to a frame shop, make sure you hunt around online and see if you can buy quality custom frames cheaper with acid-free foamboard.  I've had a couple of things done at frame shops and they can really take you for a ride! I buy frames online now.

So welcome, Freefall.  Glad to know there is someone else from L.A.

Why shouldn't I have them dry mounted? It would take out all the crease and folds, yeah?

If you've in L.A. for more than 1 year. You ARE, by extension, an Angeleno. Lol!
