I'm not as political as Thierry. You're a shit-stirrer and you know it. Ted called you on it, and you're a last word kind of guy who won't let it go. Stop stirring the shit and participate in a useful way, or crawl back under the rock. I don't really care, man.
That said, I like you and I hope you stick around. But quit trying to take the high road - it's not becoming. I didn't give a shit about MPF, one way or another, and I know that it came across in my posts there. There is only so much circle jerking one can take. Judging me by my actions there is hardly an accurate picture, much like taking my NSFGE out of the context of NSFGE. The reason I decided to post over here was because Jeannie invited me a while back and I respect you and Thierry and what I thought you were trying to do with APF. I hope that I'm not wrong about that. Funny, I never considered not posting to APF or a shit hole like MPF being under a rock. |

I believe everybody on this board has, had and always will have the right to agree or disagree with anyone else, challenge or defend any other personality on this board -- as long as it is doesn't get too offensive.
I think it's called freedom of speech.
If Holiday or Thierry told me that I would have to forfeit that, I wouldn't have "taken the job."

I truly hope that's the case and I am sure that I didn't express myself as best I could to clarify my concern at the time, which is why I asked my larger question to Holiday & Thierry. To be specific, I didn't say that you were a 'condescending dick'. I said that it was a 'condescending dick move'. To make something clear, I am not pissed, by any means. I just wanted some clarification about how things worked around here and, to be honest, I'd just like to be able to express the occasional negative opinion without fear of chastisement. This actually goes both ways, doesn't it. Ted may have jumped to a hasty conclusion, but at least he can admit it. You're still trying to justify how YOU too jumped to a hasty conclusion as well. Why not just call it a day and let it go.
Roger Ebert tweeted something today that is apropos -- if someone invented an app that imposed an automatic 15 minute delay on emails that are written to give the writer an chance to reconsider, they would be rich. I think the same thing holds true for bbs posts. We should all quit blurting and consider the fact that there's a person writing at each keyboard.
Well, at least for us. Thierry is another story.... Well, probably... getting all logical tends throw a wrench into things and I am certainly not above admitting my mistakes. Did Ted just admit it? (sorry, Jane's Addiction joke) I haven't seen that he did. Either way, I may have jumped the gun a bit, but in all honesty it's not out of a desire to stir shit. I like this place and would like to see it be the best that can be (just like the rest you would). (btw, I use the write once, read twice theory for emails - write it, then read it, then walk away for 5 min, read it again then send if it's ok - it's saved my ass on a few occasions for a variety of reasons (Dear Mr. Fuchs was almost a nightmare). I try to use the same system on posts when I have the chance) |
