Those images make for a true Horror story.   devil 2

Beer is helping me cope right now. As is lurking in the older parts of these forums.

Beer got me into this mess, but as God is my witness beer will get me out of it.

Soooo, Yesterday's poster was a huge BUST..

Today's poster however is a huge WIN!

You all saw my American Werewolf in London poster before...

Notice anything different now?

p.s. I measured and it is a little under 41 but exactly 27. I also didn't have the folds stretched out all the way. It'd probably be exactly 41 if I did though.

I'm also a pepper!  :P

It was a Through the mail request. Which is always risky, but it worked out this time. :)
I do hope to meet him in person one day though. He seems like such a nice guy in interviews.

Brandan,

Via a mail request?

Seems Way iffy.... (but i hope its the real deal).

How do you know, then, for sure, that he signed that poster himself?

That's the thing, you never do, not for 100% anyhow and it is way iffy.
Certain people though are what is deemed "Confirmed" through the mail signers.
I've only sent to these people that have a known history of legit fan mail responses.
Freddy Kruger (Robert Englund) is an example of another person that is a confirmed signer.

Fan mail / signature collecting is another hobby of mine.
I've never sent out anything that would kill me if I didn't get it back.
Usually I just print a nice high res photo and send it to them in a SASE. This time I sent a poster.

And their have been people I've never heard back from ever, a few Return to Senders, and then sometimes it works out.
But you'll never know if for certain if a sig is 100% real unless you watch them sign themselves, that I agree with.
But at the end of the day you just gotta have faith I guess. :P And I'm just doing it cause I enjoy it.

A lot of people say it ruins an otherwise perfect poster and other people say why bother at all if you'll never know it's real or not.
Guess I could have every one of my items JSA, PSA, ect authenticated, but even then, sometimes sigs that are real are "proven" to be fake and visa versa.

But like I said, a little faith, and research on the person you're sending to and comparison of sigs to known real ones and you get an idea.
That and again, at the end of the day, it's all just fun and exciting for me as a hobby.  :)

Besides that. The mail man was very giving today. As I also received this.
A set of 6 (3 shown here) 12x18 Lords of Salem poster prints.
I bought them in the mean time until I have money and a source for an official NSS poster of the film.
These were sold to me stating they were given out at screenings of the film.
Here is an actual link to the seller's auction for another set he has.
I enjoy the bright colors. It'll make for a cool view with them hung side by side.

So, this was originally going to be just my horror movie posters, but I'll just turn it into my personal collection thread on this forum.

I recently went on a trip with my girlfriend to visit her son. Her son works in a movie theater.
Madness ensued.

Here's what I picked up.
Agent 47 I saw this that weekend

Bridge of Spies .. One of my favorites from this haul.

Crimson Peak Might be seeing this tomorrow.

Everest

Fantastic Four

Fright Night Tore this off the wall. It was taped by a masochist.

Godzilla It's like they wanted me to suffer with all this tape!

Goosebumps

Lucy Another tape job. They used over a dozen pieces of duct tape mannnnn. wth

Magic Mike XXL A shining poster in my collection

No Escape Another film that looks good.

Scouts Guild to the Zombie Apocalypse Funny Art

Sinister 2

Spectre 007 A

Spectre 007 B

The 5th Wave

The Gift

The Intern

The Martian

The Night Before I'm not really into Seth Rogen flicks, but this one looks funny from the trailer.

The Perfect Guy

The Visit Looks like it might have some creepy parts to it.

The Walk A I wanna see this.

The Walk B

Vacation

Over all it was an awesome experience! I got to go up into the projector room and on stage in front of the screen. It was a blast!

Nice paper goodness, there, Brandan. I especially like Crimson Peak, The Visit and Lucy.   thumbsup.gif

What do you mean about the duct tape? Is it all over the back of the poster?

Great to see a deserving collector raid a theater.
I've done it a few times over the years and always felt like Indiana Jones.

Especially like the Crimson Peak teaser.

Lucy, Godzilla, and Fright Night were hung on the walls with duct tape. All the other posters were either rolled or folded in a cabinet where they keep them.

Thanks! It felt awesome! Definitely a experience I'll always remember.
I think the words "Calm down" were spoken to me while I was grabbing posters.
I don't remember, it was all a blur.  :P
